Ambulance Delivery

1783

On Friday 12/30/2022, Hampton Lakes Emergency Squad took delivery of our of 2nd ambulance this year, Ambulance 1783 - a 2023 Ford F-450 Type III Ambulance!

In January of 2022, our fleet of 3 ambulances was unexpectedly brought down to 2 ambulances when the "old 1783" was involved in a motor vehicle accident which rendered it a total loss. In order to effectively provide our service, we need a minimum of 3 ambulances to allow for down-time, repairs, preventative maintenance, and additional trucks to be staffed in times of high call volume or for special events.

With the nationwide chassis shortage and long expected delays in production, Southampton Township stepped in and purchased the  "stock remount" ambulance, known as 1784, on behalf of the Squad.

A stock remount uses a refurbished box on a new chassis, substantially reducing production time and cost allowing the truck to be delivered within only a few months.

The "new 1783" is a remount of the totaled "old 1783" replacing the 2003 Ford F-350 chassis with a new 2023 Ford F-450 chassis. The box was removed from the old chassis and placed on the new chassis, continuing its service.

In the next few weeks, Ambulance 1783 will be stocked and undergo licensing with the Department of Health before hitting the streets.

Thank you to VCI Emergency Vehicles and Paul Hagemann, who have been our ambulance supplier for over 40 years.
